PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of the role is to produce reports, drawings and plans related to Marine Operations such as; dry docking, float-on/-off dry transportation vessel, launching, rig/vessel moves, ballasting, deck mating, inclining tests and offshore installation. The role will execute Light Weight Surveys and inclining experiments and support during the execution of marine operations and installations.
PRIMARY REPORTING AND DELEGATION RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Marine Technology Manager and to the Discipline Lead and/or Project Managers within assigned projects. The position also liaises regularly with external stakeholders and bodies such as clients, installation companies and class authorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Develop and review of 2D drawings of Tow arrangements, Mooring Installation and Hook-up, Mooring arrangements and mooring equipment.
Plan, lead and perform preprations of ballasting plans and documentation.
Participate in R&D projects and provide expertise within the area of Stability and Marine Operations.
Plan, lead and execute Light Weight Surveys and Inclining experiments.
Plan, lead and perform stability calculations and produce associated documentation as required.
Plan, lead and participate Transportation, Integration and Installation of offshore structures.
Plan, lead and participate in preparations of rig transportation plans and documentation.
Make decisions within the area of Stability and Marine Operations problems and methods, and represent the company on conferences to resolve important technical questions or to negotiate with key engineers of other organizations.
Be a candidate for temporary project positions, such as Discipline Lead, Area Lead or project manager.
Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
The role may require you to travel on shorter business trips from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The qualification and experience requirements are the following:
M.Sc. degree in Naval Architecture or Civil Engineering.
10 + years experience of structural steel modeling.
Well developed knowledge in the area of Marine Operations, practical experience is required.
Well developed knowledge in the area of stability calculations and design, practical experience is required.
Well developed knowledge about ship and offshore rules concerning the DNV and ABS classification societies, practical experience is required.
Proven track record of AutoCAD, Autoship and Excel software.
Proven track record of producing accurate and well written technical reports.
Experience from working at a shipyard or a construction site is an advantage.
Previous experience from working in a supervisor or team leader role.
Fluent and effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. Swedish and additional language skills are an advantage (Ex Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese).
Demonstrate the ability to analyze advanced engineering issues and effectively solve problems through gathering relevant information and expert input.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and disciplines and build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through advanced interpersonal and networking skills.
