Are you a team player who thrives in an international environment and would like to work at the forefront of technology? We are now strengthening our team with an Insulation Coordination Specialist/Electrical Design Engineer at HVDC's Systems department in Ludvika during Q1, 2013.
As the new insulation coordination specialist at HVDC, you will be part of our Systems department in Ludvika where we study the HVDC system in different fault scenarios and dimension the converter stations' overvoltage protection. As the area expert, you will participate in the development of our calculation and simulation principles for overvoltages. You will also be actively involved in current projects and investigations. Moreover, you will review reports and investigations, which you often will lead, and have an important role in discussions. Several of your coworkers are located in India or in other parts of Sweden.
On a personal level, you are a team player and as our area expert will your excellent communication skills be a key factor to successfully share your knowledge. You are a typical problem solver and work in a structured and thorough way which always ensures that our studies are quality-assured.
To apply for the position Insulation Coordination Specialist you need an M.Sc. or higher degree within Electrical Power, preferably with a major in insulation coordination. You have several years' acquired knowledge of transmission grids and overvoltages. Naturally, we value if you have conducted standardization work in related fields and have specialist competence.
To succeed as an Electrical Design Engineer you have an M.Sc. preferably within Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics.
In addition to above mentioned requirements, you have broad experience of computers as well as simulations in calculation programs such as PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, EMTP and MATLAB. Since we work in an international environment it is important that you master English in writing and speech, knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
