Responsibilities - External:
At FM Global, our engineers do not spend their days behind a desk. They are out in the field, working at a wide variety of industrial facilities to help prevent losses from fire and explosion, equipment breakdown and natural hazards. Our engineers partner with our clients to help them make informed decisions on how best to protect their facilities against potential risks.
As a Consultant Risk Engineer,you will working with clients, dealing with real situations and people at all levels. You may find yourself evaluating the maintenance programme for critical equipment at a steel mill or a sprinkler system in a warehouse that will protect it from a major fire. It’s a hands-on job requiring high energy, self-motivation and creativity.
Your career at FM Global will start with a structured training programme including self study, e-based assessment and on-site mentoring. In your first eighteen months you will spend some time in the UK, and undertake three practical courses at our training facilities in the US. You will soon find yourself working independently from your home office or our office in Stockholm, travelling to client facilities to work with clients to understand their risks, solve complicated technical issues, and sharing your findings with local management of the world’s best-known companies.
Qualifications - External:
With an engineering related degree and some industrial work experience, you will have advanced problem solving and analytical ability as well as a willingness to travel extensively in the Nordic countries and sometimes further afield. Of particular interest are applications from chemical/process engineers or engineers with mechanical/electrical plant equipment experience.
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written are essential, as is an ability to persuade and influence at all levels.
